The Races

Irvine has the oldest continuous Clydesdale racing, originally run to find the fittest draft horse. The Carters would trade their horses after the race. Anyone who has witnessed the Clydesdale race will never forget the thunder of hooves as the horses pass.
The Race Card usually has three pony races, two heavy carthorse races, and four racehorse races.
